Pumps, valves and agitators all share a common challenge: bearing surfaces that must keep working in wet, corrosive or contamination-sensitive environments where conventional lubricated bearings struggle. PTFE bushes solve this by providing a self-lubricating, chemically inert bearing that needs no maintenance.
PTFE bushes in pumps
In centrifugal and process pumps, PTFE bushes act as wear rings, line-shaft bearings and throat bushes. Because they are self-lubricating, they tolerate dry running far better than metal bearings and resist the very fluids they are pumping — acids, alkalis and solvents alike.
PTFE bushes in valves
In ball, butterfly and control valves, PTFE bushes support the stem and reduce operating torque. Their low friction gives smooth, repeatable actuation, while their chemical resistance keeps performance stable over long service intervals.
PTFE bushes in agitators and mixers
Agitator shafts in reactors and mixing vessels rely on bottom guide bushes to stay centred. PTFE’s inertness means it won’t contaminate sensitive pharmaceutical or food-grade batches, and its self-lubrication removes the need for grease near the product.
Why "zero-maintenance" matters
Every grease point is a maintenance task and a potential contamination source. Replacing lubricated bearings with PTFE bushes removes both — cutting downtime, reducing spares inventory and improving process hygiene.
